In this age of passive entertainment and shouting that passes for news, the Touring Theatre of North Carolina asks you to breathe deeply of the human experience and, through its performances, get involved with your intellect and imagination. Like
the best investigative journalism, it uncovers unforgettable people like Civil Rights worker Fannie Lou Hamer, the women veterans of WWII, children caught in the events of the Holocaust, and characters from Southern fiction and from the liveliest of children’s tales. The Touring Theatre keeps its props and sets to a minimum so that audience members can focus on the language of the literature and come away with minds stretched
to encompass new forms and ideas.
