FAMILY BUSINESS   |  60 minutes

Adapted by Brenda P. Schleunes

Features two literary masterpieces by North Carolina Writers.  Presented together these stories constitute a full evening of performance; presented separately, they serve as shorter fare for after dinner or study group programs.

Consisting of Jill McCorkle's "Crash Diet" and Randall Kenan's "The Foundations of the Earth", the stories share an emotional resonance about families and the relationships within them.

Both humorous, Ms. McCorkle's central character is "dead on" as she responds to the emotional upheaval that comes with the break-up of a marriage; Mr. Kenan's is totally authentic as she struggles with the social and religious implications of homosexuality.
